MRUG Board Member MRUG was formed in 1984 by several organizations within the Chicago area. The initial focus of this group was to enhance the IDX product to better meet the needs of MRUG members. Over the years word has spread and more IDX clients joined the group. In 1990 there were approximately 30 individuals from various organizations participating in one session three times per year. 

In 1991 the group changed its focus to concentrate more on how each member uses the IDX applications to meet its needs. This change came about so that MRUG members could benefit from the development and ideas of each other and not have to wait for enhancements to solve all their needs. 

In 1994 we added the vendor fair to the conference. Our first meeting included four vendors in attendance. Today, nearly 22 vendors attend and participate in many areas of the conference. 

Today the average biannual conference is 125+ individuals from approximately 40 organizations and the vendors. The one-day session has grown to three days. The individuals who have attended the biannual conventions have developed relationships with each other. The resulting network has proven to be invaluable to those who have chosen to use it.
